2. Scope and Acceptance
These Terms and Conditions apply to:
Access to and use of the EdPro website and its content.
Membership applications and membership services.
Learner guidance, administrative support and educational referrals.
Referrals to Centro Qualifica for the Portuguese Portuguese-as-an-Additional-Language (PLA) programme.
Other courses, training activities and educational support offered directly by EdPro.
Workshops, seminars, events and professional development activities.
Services provided to businesses, associations, institutions and other organisations.
Related communications, bookings and payments.
Additional terms may apply to a particular course, membership, event or service. Where special terms are provided before a booking or purchase, those terms form part of the relevant agreement. If terms conflict, the specific terms for the relevant service take precedence over these general terms to the extent of the conflict, subject to mandatory law.
By using the website, you agree to comply with the provisions applicable to website use. A separate service agreement is formed only when the applicable offer, application or booking process has been completed and accepted by EdPro.
Where a service requires payment, the applicable price, scope, duration and other material conditions will be presented before you commit to purchase.
3. Eligibility and User Information
You must provide accurate, current and complete information when registering, applying for membership, booking a service or requesting assistance.
You must notify EdPro of material changes to your contact details or other information necessary to provide the service.
Individuals must have the legal capacity required to enter into the relevant agreement. If a participant is under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian may need to provide consent and enter into the relevant agreement, subject to applicable law and the requirements of the specific programme.
Organisations entering into an agreement must ensure that the person acting on their behalf is authorised to do so.
EdPro may request information reasonably necessary to assess an application, administer a membership, make a referral or provide the contracted service. Any processing of personal information is subject to the EdPro Privacy Notice.
4. EdPro Services
EdPro provides membership, educational support, professional development and related services, as described on its website or in the applicable service offer.
Depending on the service purchased, EdPro’s activities may include:
Providing information about educational opportunities and training programmes.
Helping learners understand application and administrative requirements.
Referring eligible learners to third-party educational providers.
Assisting with the preparation or submission of application documents.
Providing communications, guidance and administrative support during a programme.
Organising courses, workshops, seminars, events and professional development activities.
Providing information about further learning opportunities.
The exact scope of each service will depend on the relevant description, offer or agreement. EdPro does not promise services that have not been expressly included in the applicable offer.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, EdPro’s guidance and administrative support do not replace advice or decisions made by the institution responsible for delivering a particular educational programme.
5. Referrals to Centro Qualifica and the PLA Programme
EdPro may assist learners who wish to apply for the Portuguese Portuguese-as-an-Additional-Language (PLA) programme delivered by Centro Qualifica.
In connection with this service, EdPro may provide information, assist with administrative steps, collect relevant application information and documents, transmit the required information to Centro Qualifica, and provide ongoing communications and support within the scope of the EdPro service purchased.
Centro Qualifica is responsible for the training programme it delivers. This includes decisions concerning admission and eligibility, programme delivery, teaching, attendance requirements, assessments, academic progression, completion and certification, as applicable.
EdPro does not guarantee that a learner will be accepted into the programme, complete it successfully, receive a certificate or achieve a particular educational or professional outcome. These matters depend on the relevant provider’s requirements and decisions, the learner’s circumstances and applicable rules.
EdPro’s membership service is separate from the PLA training delivered by Centro Qualifica.
The membership fee payable to EdPro is charged for EdPro’s own membership, guidance, administrative support and other expressly included services. It is not a tuition fee payable to Centro Qualifica. EdPro does not receive payment from Centro Qualifica for the membership fee described in these Terms.
Any tuition, examination, certification or other fees payable directly to Centro Qualifica or another provider are subject to that provider’s own terms and must be disclosed separately where applicable.
Questions or complaints about EdPro’s own services should be directed to EdPro. Questions or complaints concerning Centro Qualifica’s admission decisions, teaching, assessments, certification or other responsibilities of that institution should be directed to Centro Qualifica, without prejudice to any rights you may have against EdPro or the provider under applicable law.
6. Other Courses, Workshops and Events
EdPro may offer courses, workshops, seminars, events and other educational or professional development activities directly or in collaboration with third parties.
Each activity may have its own requirements, including eligibility criteria, registration deadlines, participant limits, attendance conditions, fees and cancellation arrangements. These will be communicated before registration or payment.
Membership does not automatically entitle a member to attend every EdPro course, workshop or event unless this is expressly included in the membership offer.
After completing a programme delivered by another provider, a member may be eligible to attend EdPro workshops or events, subject to the applicable eligibility requirements, availability and any additional fees communicated in advance.
EdPro may make reasonable changes to the schedule, format, venue, facilitator or delivery method where necessary. Where a material change significantly affects the service purchased, EdPro will inform affected participants and provide any remedy required by the applicable agreement and law.
If EdPro cancels an activity, it will communicate the available arrangements, which may include rescheduling, an alternative activity or a refund where appropriate and legally required.
7. Membership
Membership provides access to the benefits and services specifically described in the applicable membership offer.
Before applying or paying, you should review the membership description, fee, duration, included services, exclusions and any renewal or termination arrangements.
Membership begins on the date stated in the acceptance confirmation or applicable membership agreement.
Membership is personal to the accepted member unless the relevant offer expressly allows transfer or organisational membership. Membership may not be transferred to another person without EdPro’s prior written approval.
Members must provide accurate information, comply with applicable programme requirements and use EdPro services respectfully and lawfully.
EdPro may suspend or terminate membership for serious or repeated misconduct, fraud, unlawful activity, misuse of services or material breach of the membership agreement. Except where immediate action is reasonably necessary for safety, security or legal compliance, EdPro will normally notify the member of the concern and give a reasonable opportunity to respond or remedy the breach.
Termination does not remove any statutory rights or obligations that continue to apply.
Membership duration, renewal and any renewal fee will be disclosed before the member commits. Membership will not automatically renew unless the renewal arrangement has been clearly disclosed and lawfully agreed.
8. Fees, Payment and Invoicing
The applicable fee will be displayed or communicated before you commit to a paid service. Prices will be stated in euros unless otherwise specified and will identify applicable taxes or additional charges where required.
EdPro may accept payment by bank transfer or direct payment to EdPro, as specified in the relevant offer or payment instructions.
You must use the correct payment reference and provide any information reasonably required to identify the payment.
A booking or membership may remain pending until the required payment has been received and the application accepted, provided this condition has been clearly disclosed in advance.
EdPro will issue invoices or other payment documentation as required by applicable law.
Any additional fee, third-party charge or optional service must be communicated before you become liable to pay it.
If an invoice remains unpaid, EdPro may send a payment reminder and, where legally permitted and proportionate, suspend future services until the outstanding amount is settled. This does not authorise EdPro to withhold services or impose charges contrary to mandatory law or the relevant agreement.
9. Cancellation, Withdrawal and Refunds
EdPro aims to handle cancellations and refund requests fairly and transparently. The applicable rules depend on the type of service, the agreement, when the request is made and any mandatory consumer protections.
9.1 Statutory right of withdrawal for consumers
Where a contract is covered by the Portuguese rules on distance contracts or contracts concluded away from business premises, a consumer will generally have 14 calendar days to withdraw from a service contract without giving a reason, starting from the date the contract is concluded, subject to applicable exceptions.
Certain contracts concluded away from business premises may be subject to a longer period under the law.
Before the contract is concluded, EdPro will provide the information required by law concerning any right of withdrawal, including the applicable period, the procedure for exercising the right and any relevant exceptions.
To exercise a right of withdrawal, a consumer may send EdPro an unequivocal statement of their decision by email or post using the contact details in Section 1. A consumer may use the model form in Section 9.6, but is not required to do so.
The notice must be sent within the applicable withdrawal period. Consumers should retain evidence of the date and content of their notice.
9.2 Requesting that services begin during the withdrawal period
If a learner asks EdPro to begin providing a service during the withdrawal period, EdPro will obtain the express request required by law and provide the relevant pre-contract information.
If the consumer subsequently exercises a valid withdrawal right after the service has begun, the consumer may be required to pay a proportionate amount for the service actually supplied up to the time of withdrawal, but only where the applicable legal conditions have been satisfied.
A consumer loses the statutory right of withdrawal for a service contract upon full performance only where the legal requirements are met, including the required prior express consent and acknowledgement of the loss of that right.
A general acceptance of these Terms and Conditions is not, by itself, intended to replace any separate consent or acknowledgement required by law.
9.3 Refunds following a valid withdrawal
Where a consumer validly exercises a statutory withdrawal right, EdPro will make any refund due within the applicable legal deadline and using the required method, subject to any lawful amount payable for services already supplied.
The refund will cover payments that the law requires EdPro to return. It will not include sums lawfully retained for services already supplied or other amounts that may lawfully be charged under the applicable rules.
9.4 Cancellation outside a statutory withdrawal period
After any applicable statutory withdrawal period has expired, cancellation and refund requests will be handled under the specific service or membership agreement and applicable law.
The applicable offer may specify reasonable cancellation deadlines, administrative arrangements and the treatment of fees for services already delivered or costs already incurred, provided these provisions have been disclosed in advance and are lawful.
Where a service has not been provided, EdPro will assess the request in accordance with the contract and applicable law. Where EdPro cancels a service or fails to provide a service for which payment has been made, any refund or other remedy will be determined under the relevant agreement and mandatory legal requirements.
9.5 Dissatisfaction with a course or programme
A participant may find that a course does not meet their personal expectations after it has started. Dissatisfaction alone does not automatically establish a right to a full refund of a separate EdPro membership fee where EdPro has provided the services agreed under that membership.
However, this provision does not exclude or limit any statutory withdrawal right, consumer right, contractual remedy or claim that may apply because of non-performance, misleading information, a material change or another legally relevant circumstance.
Where a participant wishes to discontinue a programme delivered by Centro Qualifica or another third party, the participant should also contact that provider to understand the consequences for their participation in the programme. Cancellation of a third-party programme does not automatically cancel a separate EdPro agreement, unless the relevant terms or applicable law provide otherwise.
9.6 Model withdrawal form
A learner may use the following form when exercising an applicable statutory right of withdrawal.

EdPro will acknowledge the request and explain any further information needed. Refunds will be processed within the time required by applicable law or the relevant agreement.
Nothing in this section is intended to waive or restrict a consumer’s mandatory legal rights.
10. User Responsibilities and Acceptable Use
You agree to use the website and services lawfully and responsibly.
You must not:
Use the website for unlawful, fraudulent or misleading purposes.
Submit false, forged or misleading documents or information.

Any such action will be subject to applicable law and any contractual or statutory rights.
11. Website Content and Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the EdPro website and its original content, branding, logos, text, graphics, materials and design are owned by EdPro or used under licence.
You may view and use website content for personal, non-commercial purposes connected with learning about or using EdPro services.
You must not reproduce, distribute, modify, publish, sell or commercially exploit protected content without the relevant rights holder’s prior permission, except to the extent permitted by law.
Materials supplied as part of a course, workshop or membership may be subject to additional usage terms. Unless expressly authorised, they may not be redistributed, resold or represented as your own work.
Nothing in this section transfers ownership of intellectual property to a user.
12. External Links and Third-Party Services
The website may contain links to external websites, platforms or resources operated by third parties, including educational providers and public institutions.
These links are provided for information or convenience. Unless expressly stated otherwise, a link does not mean that EdPro endorses or controls the third party or guarantees the accuracy, availability, security or suitability of its content or services.
Third-party websites and services may have their own terms, privacy notices, fees and eligibility requirements. You should review those terms before using the service or submitting personal information.
EdPro is not responsible for the independent operation or content of third-party websites, except to the extent that liability cannot lawfully be excluded or where applicable law otherwise makes EdPro responsible.
The inclusion of a link does not exclude any duty or liability that EdPro may have under applicable law.
13. Privacy and Personal Data
EdPro processes personal data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and relevant Portuguese law.
The EdPro Privacy Notice explains the types of personal data collected, the purposes and legal bases for processing, the recipients of data, retention periods, individual rights and how to contact EdPro about privacy matters.

Consent for optional marketing communications will be requested separately where required. You may withdraw marketing consent or object to direct marketing in accordance with applicable law.
14. Website Availability and Security
EdPro aims to keep the website available and its information reasonably accurate, but does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free or continuous access.
The website may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance, security updates, technical issues or circumstances beyond EdPro’s reasonable control.
EdPro may update, suspend or discontinue website features where reasonably necessary. Where a change materially affects a paid service, the rights of affected customers will be determined by the relevant agreement and applicable law.
Users are responsible for using appropriate devices, software and security practices when accessing the website.
Nothing in this section excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Information and Educational Outcomes
Website information is provided for general informational purposes and should not be treated as a guarantee of admission, certification, employment, professional recognition or another specific result.
Programme requirements, eligibility criteria, schedules and third-party procedures may change. EdPro will take reasonable steps to communicate relevant information within the scope of the services it provides.
Where a third party makes a decision concerning an application, assessment, certificate or programme, that decision remains the responsibility of the relevant third party, subject to applicable law.
EdPro does not guarantee a particular educational outcome merely because it provides guidance or administrative support.
16. Complaints and Customer Support
Questions or complaints about EdPro’s services may be submitted using the following details:
Email: info@edpropt.org
Postal address: Rua Dom Afonso Henriques 2
2620-080 Póvoa de Santo Adrião, Odivelas, Lisboa, Portugal.Telephone: +351 214 006 413

EdPro will review complaints fairly and endeavour to respond within a reasonable period.
Consumers may also have access to the Portuguese Livro de Reclamações, including the electronic complaints book, where applicable. Information is available at https://www.livroreclamacoes.pt/.
Nothing in this section prevents a user from exercising a right to contact a competent regulator, consumer authority or court.
17. Suspension and Termination
EdPro may suspend or terminate access to a service where there is a material breach of the applicable agreement, misuse of the service, a security risk, unlawful activity or another legitimate reason recognised by law.
Where reasonably possible, EdPro will explain the reason and provide an opportunity to resolve the issue before taking action. Immediate action may be appropriate where necessary to protect people, information, systems or legal interests.
Where EdPro terminates a paid service without lawful grounds to retain the relevant payment, any refund or other remedy will be determined in accordance with the agreement and applicable law.
Termination does not affect rights or obligations that have already accrued or provisions that by their nature continue after termination.
18. Changes to These Terms
EdPro may update these Terms and Conditions to reflect changes in its services, operations, technology or legal obligations.
The current version will be published on the website with its effective or last-updated date.
Changes will apply prospectively unless otherwise permitted by law. EdPro will not rely on a website update alone to impose a material change to an existing paid agreement where the user’s agreement or mandatory law is required.
Where a change materially affects an existing service, EdPro will provide any notice, explanation or opportunity to terminate required by the applicable agreement and law.
19. Events Beyond Reasonable Control
EdPro will not be responsible for a delay or failure caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, to the extent permitted by law. Such circumstances may include major technical outages, natural disasters, public emergencies, industrial action, or disruption caused by a third-party provider.
EdPro will take reasonable steps to inform affected users and minimise the impact where practicable.
This section does not remove statutory consumer rights, refund obligations or other remedies that continue to apply in the circumstances.
20. Liability
EdPro will provide its contracted services with the care and responsibility required by applicable law.
To the extent permitted by law, EdPro is not responsible for losses arising solely from a third party’s independent decisions or actions, inaccurate information supplied by a user, or use of the website contrary to these Terms.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury where exclusion is prohibited, breach of mandatory consumer rights, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
For agreements with organisations acting in a professional or business capacity, any additional limitation of liability must be expressly agreed, proportionate, and lawful. It must not be applied to consumers where prohibited by mandatory law.
21. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Portugal, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rules that apply to a particular user.
Any dispute will be submitted to the competent court determined under applicable law. Nothing in these Terms is intended to deprive a consumer of a mandatory right to bring proceedings before a competent court or to benefit from mandatory protections under the law applicable to their circumstances.
Where applicable, parties may also use a competent alternative dispute resolution mechanism.
22. Severability and No Waiver
If a provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
A failure or delay by EdPro in exercising a right does not automatically constitute a waiver of that right.
No provision will be interpreted as excluding a statutory right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
