EdPro Membership Terms and Conditions

PLA Programme – Student Guidance, Support and Membership Services

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern the membership services provided by EdPro to learners who register for support in connection with the PLA Programme delivered by Centro Qualifica.

By purchasing an EdPro membership, the learner confirms that they have read and understood these Terms and Conditions before completing their purchase.

EdPro and Centro Qualifica are separate entities with distinct responsibilities. The EdPro membership agreement is separate from any enrolment, training or other agreement entered into with Centro Qualifica.

2. What EdPro Provides

EdPro provides membership, guidance and support services intended to assist learners throughout their participation in the PLA Programme.

Depending on the membership purchased, these services may include:

  • Referring prospective learners to the relevant training provider.

  • Providing general information and guidance about the application and registration process.

  • Assisting learners with administrative steps and communicating relevant information.

  • Providing ongoing guidance, communication and support throughout the programme.

  • Sharing relevant updates and information with members.

  • Providing eligible members with opportunities to attend selected EdPro workshops or events after the programme, subject to availability, eligibility requirements and any separately communicated fees or conditions.

The precise services included are those described on the applicable membership offer or purchase page at the time of purchase.

EdPro does not guarantee admission to the PLA Programme, successful completion, certification, a particular academic result or any other outcome dependent on the training provider or a third party.

3. Responsibilities of Centro Qualifica

Centro Qualifica is responsible for the educational and training aspects of the PLA Programme, including, as applicable:

  • Assessing applications and determining admission.

  • Managing enrolment and participation in the programme.

  • Delivering the training and related educational services.

  • Determining assessment requirements and academic outcomes.

  • Making decisions concerning completion and certification.

  • Addressing complaints concerning teaching, assessments, course content and other matters within its responsibility.

  • Applying its own terms concerning course fees, withdrawals, cancellations and refunds.

EdPro does not control Centro Qualifica’s academic decisions or guarantee the quality, content, availability or outcome of the training.

Questions or complaints about the delivery of the PLA Programme should be directed to Centro Qualifica. EdPro may provide reasonable guidance or assistance with communication where this falls within the member’s agreed services.

4. EdPro Membership Fee

The EdPro membership fee is paid directly by the learner to EdPro in exchange for the membership services described in these Terms and Conditions and in the applicable membership offer.

The fee covers EdPro’s agreed services, which may include referral assistance, guidance, administrative support, communication and ongoing member support.

The EdPro membership fee is separate from any tuition, training, enrolment or other fees charged by Centro Qualifica. EdPro does not receive payment from Centro Qualifica for referring learners under this arrangement.

Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, payment of the EdPro membership fee does not include fees charged by Centro Qualifica or guarantee access to any additional paid service, workshop or event.

The membership price, payment method and any applicable payment schedule will be communicated to the learner before purchase.

5. Membership Commencement and Duration

The membership commences on the date specified in the membership offer or confirmed to the learner following purchase.

EdPro will provide the agreed membership services for the period and on the terms stated in that offer.

Some services, such as application guidance or initial administrative assistance, may be provided near the beginning of the membership. Other services, such as communication and ongoing support, may continue throughout the programme.

The start of one service does not necessarily mean that all membership services have been completed.

6. Learner Responsibilities

The learner agrees to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information when registering for membership.

  • Supply documents and information reasonably required for the agreed services.

  • Respond to relevant communications and follow applicable application instructions.

  • Comply with the rules and requirements established by Centro Qualifica for the PLA Programme.

  • Treat EdPro staff, Centro Qualifica staff and other learners respectfully.

  • Keep their contact details up to date.

EdPro is not responsible for delays, missed opportunities or adverse outcomes caused by inaccurate information, incomplete documents, missed deadlines or failure to follow instructions supplied by the learner or a third party.

7. Workshops and Events After the Programme

Eligible EdPro members may be invited to attend certain workshops, events or other activities organised by EdPro after completing or participating in the PLA Programme.

Access may depend on eligibility, registration, available places and the specific conditions of each activity.

Unless expressly included in the membership offer, workshops and events are not guaranteed benefits and may involve additional charges. Any applicable charges and conditions will be communicated before the learner commits to the activity.

8. Cancellation, Withdrawal and Refunds

8.1. Statutory right of withdrawal

Where the membership agreement is concluded at a distance or off-premises and is covered by Portuguese Decree-Law No. 24/2014, the learner will generally have 14 days from the conclusion of the contract to exercise the statutory right of withdrawal without giving a reason, subject to any applicable statutory exceptions or different periods.

To exercise this right, the learner must clearly inform EdPro of their decision before the applicable deadline, for example by sending an email to info@edpropt.org.

8.2. Request to start services during the withdrawal period

If the learner wishes EdPro to begin providing membership services before the applicable withdrawal period expires, EdPro will obtain any express request and acknowledgement required by law.

If the learner subsequently exercises a valid statutory right of withdrawal during that period, EdPro may, where legally permitted and where the relevant legal requirements have been satisfied, charge a proportionate amount for the membership services actually supplied up to the time the learner communicates their withdrawal.

EdPro will not rely on this provision to charge an amount that is not permitted by law.

8.3. Learners who start the PLA Programme but decide they do not like it

The EdPro membership fee pays for the membership services agreed between the learner and EdPro. It is separate from the educational and training services provided by Centro Qualifica.

If a learner starts the PLA Programme and subsequently decides that they do not like the course, is dissatisfied with the course content or learning experience, or chooses to stop attending or withdraw from the programme, that decision alone does not automatically entitle the learner to a refund of the EdPro membership fee.

This is because a decision to leave the training programme does not, by itself, mean that the separate membership services provided by EdPro have not been supplied.

However, this provision does not remove any statutory withdrawal right or other mandatory consumer right that the learner may have. Any refund request will be assessed in accordance with the applicable law, the membership agreement and the services actually supplied.

8.4. Voluntary cancellation after the statutory withdrawal period

After the applicable statutory withdrawal period has expired, a learner who voluntarily decides to stop using EdPro’s membership services will not automatically be entitled to a refund merely because they no longer wish to participate in the PLA Programme, no longer need the membership services or have not used all the available benefits.

Any refund entitlement will depend on the membership agreement, the nature and duration of the services, whether EdPro has fulfilled its obligations and any rights provided by applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes a refund or other remedy where it is legally required.

8.5. Cancellation or changes to the PLA Programme

If the PLA Programme is cancelled, postponed or materially changed by Centro Qualifica, any refund of fees paid directly to Centro Qualifica will be handled in accordance with the learner’s agreement with that entity and applicable law.

The EdPro membership fee will be considered separately, taking into account the membership services agreed, the services already supplied, any services that remain to be supplied and the learner’s applicable legal rights.

EdPro does not guarantee a refund of its membership fee merely because Centro Qualifica changes or cancels a programme. Equally, EdPro does not exclude any refund or other remedy that may be legally required in the circumstances.

8.6. Refund requests

Refund requests concerning EdPro membership should be sent to info@edpropt.org, with the learner’s full name, membership reference if applicable, purchase date and a clear explanation of the request.

Where the learner is exercising a statutory right of withdrawal, the learner should clearly state that they wish to withdraw from the membership agreement.

EdPro will review the request and respond in accordance with the applicable legal requirements and deadlines.

8.7. Mandatory legal rights

Nothing in this section is intended to exclude, restrict or waive any mandatory rights the learner has under Portuguese or other applicable consumer-protection law.

9. No Guarantee of Results

EdPro provides guidance, administrative assistance, communication and support services. It does not guarantee that a learner will be accepted onto the PLA Programme, complete the programme successfully, obtain a particular qualification or achieve a specific academic or professional outcome.

Academic and training decisions remain the responsibility of Centro Qualifica or the relevant competent entity.

10. Personal Data and Privacy

EdPro will process personal data in accordance with applicable data-protection legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), where applicable.

Personal data will be used for purposes connected with membership administration, the delivery of agreed services, communications and related legitimate activities, as explained in EdPro’s Privacy Notice.

Where personal data needs to be shared with Centro Qualifica or another organisation, EdPro will do so on an appropriate lawful basis and in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements.

For further information about how personal data is handled, please consult EdPro Privacy Notice.

11. Complaints and Contact

For questions or complaints relating to EdPro membership services, learners may contact:

EdPro

Email: info@edpropt.org

Address: Associação EdPro

Rua Dom Afonso Henriques 2
2620-080 Póvoa de Santo Adrião, Odivelas, Lisboa, Portugal.

Complaints concerning the delivery, teaching, assessment or certification of the PLA Programme should be directed to Centro Qualifica.

Nothing in this section limits any consumer’s right to use applicable statutory complaint procedures or dispute-resolution mechanisms.

12. Changes to These Terms

EdPro may update these Terms and Conditions where reasonably necessary, including to reflect changes in its services or applicable law.

Changes will not remove mandatory legal rights or retrospectively alter an existing agreement in a way that is unlawful. Where required, EdPro will notify affected members of material changes.

13. Applicable Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by Portuguese law, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection provisions that apply to the learner.

Where the learner qualifies as a consumer, nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to deprive them of any protection that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.

14. Acceptance

By purchasing an EdPro membership, the learner confirms that they have had the opportunity to read these Terms and Conditions and understand that:

  • EdPro’s membership services are separate from the PLA Programme delivered by Centro Qualifica.

  • The EdPro membership fee is paid directly to EdPro for its agreed membership services and is not a tuition fee paid to Centro Qualifica.

  • Deciding to leave or discontinue the PLA Programme does not, by itself, automatically entitle the learner to a refund of the EdPro membership fee.

  • Any statutory withdrawal rights and other mandatory consumer rights remain protected under applicable law.
