PLA Programme – Class Policies
Language of Instruction
To ensure effective learning, learners are expected to have a basic understanding of English, as it is used as a support language in class. Lessons are delivered mainly in European Portuguese (around 80%), with instructors also using English for clarification, guidance, and instruction when needed. Our qualified teachers are multilingual and support learners from diverse backgrounds to ensure clear understanding throughout the course.
Attendance Policy
Learners must maintain a minimum of 90% attendance across the course (online or in-person). Missing more than 10% of total course hours may result in automatic removal from the programme and loss of certification eligibility. Attendance requirements are strictly enforced in line with awarding body and legal regulations. This policy is agreed upon at enrolment, and it is the learner’s responsibility to ensure full compliance and successful completion.
Participation & Conduct
Active participation is essential for progress and successful completion of the course. Learners are expected to:
Attend all classes punctually and regularly
Complete assigned tasks and homework
Actively engage in discussions and group activities
Listen respectfully and contribute positively
Avoid distractions such as mobile phone use or unrelated online activity during class
Participation is mandatory, and learners should remain focused, respectful, and ready to engage throughout all lessons.
Assessment & Passing Requirements
Learners must achieve the minimum passing grade required by the awarding body in both oral and written assessments. Evaluation includes:
Written assessments (grammar, vocabulary, reading, and writing tasks)
Oral assessments (speaking, listening, and communication activities)
These assessments ensure learners successfully meet the required A2 language learning outcomes.
Technology Requirements (Online Classes)
Learners are fully responsible for ensuring they have:
A stable internet connection
A working device (laptop, tablet, or smartphone)
EdPro does not provide internet access or devices. For online classes, cameras must remain ON at all times to ensure proper attendance verification, interaction, and engagement.
Learning Expectations
To ensure a high-quality learning experience, learners must:
Attend classes in a quiet, distraction-free environment
Follow all teacher instructions
Participate actively in all activities
Avoid multitasking (e.g., working, cooking, driving during class)
Show full attention and commitment to learning
